Tim Wakefield said his back felt better after throwing Thursday. He'll start either Sunday or Monday.
"If we needed to, we reserve the right to maybe bump him back one more day to Monday," manager Terry Francona said. "We're going to have a pitching move on Monday anyway. We could just do it Sunday if we needed to. I kind of told Wake we'd leave that open. We'll see. ... I think the good news is he made a lot of improvement today. Felt better." Kyle Snyder is expected to start whatever game Wakefield doesn't.
